Winborn Tweaks Knee September 14 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise THIS CONTENT IS COPYWRITED, REDISTRIBUTION OF IT (including copy/pasting it to a message board, forum or bbs) IS PROHIBITED AND COULD RESULT IN LEGAL ACTIONS - feel free to quote up to 1 paragraph providing a source link to http://www.49ersparadise.cjb.net is included On Thursday, Jamie Winborn tweaked his knee in practice. As a result, the 49ers held him out of practice on Friday. Winborn has been reported as probable for this Sunday’s game. Winbron was the NFC’s defensive player of the week after his 16 tackle performance in season one. Winborn is starting in place of Jeff Ulbrich, and the 49ers do not expect that to change because of a sore knee. By game time, the 49ers believe it won’t even be an issue. Nevertheless, Winborn is listed on the injury report, and if by some chance he can’t play, rookie Saleem Rasheed, could get the start after missing the opening game with an injury himself. Rasheed has practiced every day this week.
After having tend days to recover from the off-season and their last game, the 49ers are in pretty good shape in terms of injuries. Matt Willig is the only player that is definitely out. Jeff Ulbrich is doubtful, and that likely means he won’t play too. But defensive tackle Jim Flanigan is probable (along with Winborn) and is expected to play. Rasheed has been removed from the injury list all together.
