Pressure Continues November 14 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise THIS CONTENT IS COPYWRITED, REDISTRIBUTION OF IT (including copy/pasting it to a message board, forum or bbs) IS PROHIBITED AND COULD RESULT IN LEGAL ACTIONS - feel free to quote up to 1 paragraph providing a source link to http://www.49ersparadise.cjb.net is included The 49ers were able to keep pressuring the quarterback in the Chiefs game. In fact, they had one of their best games of the season doing so. Three players recorded sacks, and one of them almost had two in the game, but Trent Greene made a very tough throw as he was being sacked. Defensive end Andre Carter recorded his eight sack of the season. Carter leads the team in sacks and could become the first 49ers defensive end to record double digit sacks since Roy Barker and Chris Doleman. Chike Okeafor recorded his fifth sack, and almost his sixth sack of the season. Okeafor is looking for more and has put forth a good string of games, also batting down balls at the line of scrimmage.
Dana Stubblefield recorded a sack as well, finally providing the 49ers a bit of a push up the middle of the field. He and fellow defensive tackle Bryant Young have been silent for far too long, it’s time they started pounding on quarterbacks.
