Roster Moves And More November 13 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise THIS CONTENT IS COPYWRITED, REDISTRIBUTION OF IT (including copy/pasting it to a message board, forum or bbs) IS PROHIBITED AND COULD RESULT IN LEGAL ACTIONS - feel free to quote up to 1 paragraph providing a source link to http://www.49ersparadise.cjb.net is included As 49ers Paradise anticipated, the team activated defensive tackle Josh Shaw to the regular roster. Shaw may not be active at all this season, but the 49ers feel that having him available to practice with the team will aid his learning curve. It’s a similar strategy to what they employed upon Garrison Hearst’s recovery. To make room for Shaw the 49ers released receiver James Jordan. The team is hoping that Jordan will clear waivers and they will then put him on the practice squad. To make room on their practice squad the team released punter Craig Jarret.
The 49ers also had two players in for workouts. Both defensive players, a safety and defensive end. Safety Brian Leigeb who has been with the Bills and Colts and Dwayne Missouri who spent time with the Ravens and Cowboys. It’s unlikely the 49ers sign either, though they are both practice squad possibilities if Jordan does not clear waivers.
