Parrish Bummed November 6 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise THIS CONTENT IS COPYWRITED, REDISTRIBUTION OF IT (including copy/pasting it to a message board, forum or bbs) IS PROHIBITED AND COULD RESULT IN LEGAL ACTIONS - feel free to quote up to 1 paragraph providing a source link to http://www.49ersparadise.cjb.net is included 49ers strong safety Tony Parrish went for an interception in the end zone this past Sunday. Parrish falling backwards through the air was able to get his hands on the ball, but couldn’t hang on to the third down pass. The third down pass fell incomplete, and Parrish hit the ground hard. Parrish remained in the game, but has been diagnosed with a tailbone bruise, or as Mariucci put it, a ‘butt bruise’. Parrish has jumped into the 49ers lineup and has made most 49ers fans forget about Lance Schulters who was the 49ers safety the past few season. Parrish has been awesome this season, making play after play. On Monday, Parrish underwent a MRI. The results were not made known to the media immediately, however Parrish is expecting to rest most of this week, and be back on the field in time to play against the Chiefs.
Really with Zack Bronson already injured, the 49ers can’t afford to lose their other starting safety to injury. Parrish is to integral a player to lose to injury, especially when the defense is as banged up as it is. The 49ers must do everything they can to protect him, and get him ready to play this week.
