Tony Parrish Continues Recovering Process May 8 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise A short two weeks after Tony Parrish underwent a procedure to remove a testicle with a growth on it, Tony Parrish seems to be recovering quite nicely. Although, the procedure is quite common in today’s medical world, it’s still rather serious. Parrish had resumed working out a very short time after the surgery and to date has not suffered any setbacks. The starting strong safety for the 49ers is expected to be a big part of the team’s defense this season. His quickness and hard hitting will be an asset on the blitz and in handling running backs like Marshall Faulk. It’s great news to hear that Parrish’s recovery is on course.
Although Parrish is likely to feel a small tug in his abdomen for about a year, it shouldn’t prohibit him in anyway from playing football. Parrish has also resumed working out with the team and that should aid him in learning all the intricacies of the team’s defense.
