Owens Now Has Seven Days June 21 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise THIS CONTENT IS COPYWRITED, REDISTRIBUTION OF IT (including copy/pasting it to a message board, forum or bbs) IS PROHIBITED AND COULD RESULT IN LEGAL ACTIONS - feel free to quote up to 1 paragraph providing a source link to http://www.49ersparadise.cjb.net is included Terrell Owens now has less than seven days to decide whether he will join his United States Basketball Team, the Adriondack Wildcats in the USBL Playoff Festival that will take place from June 28th to the 30th. Owens played with the team earlier this season, and while he got a long very well with the team, was hardly a stellar performer on the wood. As the date approaches it becomes less, and less likely that Owens will indeed return to the league. For him to do so at this point would make little sense as he has been off the court and out of practice for quite some time now. The Wildcats would likely rather have Owens as a cheer leader, than attempting to step onto the court now. It would simply be too disrupting.
Providing Owens does not return to the league it would demonstrate a maturity that we haven’t seen from him in quite some time. The 49ers wide receiver, is as ‘reborn’ as you get in the NFL, even getting along with head coach Steve Mariucci. Perhaps Owens has his priorities strait, and realizes what an injury to himself this late in the off-season would due to him as a football player.
