More Legal Issues August 24 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise THIS CONTENT IS COPYWRITED, REDISTRIBUTION OF IT (including copy/pasting it to a message board, forum or bbs) IS PROHIBITED AND COULD RESULT IN LEGAL ACTIONS - feel free to quote up to 1 paragraph providing a source link to http://www.49ersparadise.cjb.net is included The 49ers have run into troubles with the law a few times this off-season. Recently, it happened again. Center Jeff McCurley who is trying to make the 49ers roster now has a warrant out for his arrest. McCurley allegedly altered a prescription in order to get pain killers from a pharmacy on July 19th. Altering such documents is a criminal offense.
McCurley wasn’t likely to make the 49ers roster, and if Jeremy Newberry was healthy, McCurley likely would have been shown the door by now. Given that there is now a warrant for his arrest, it is quite unlikely that he’ll be a part of the team when they face Oakland this Saturday.
