49ER TOY DRIVE In keeping with the spirit of giving, the San Francisco 49ers and AMC Theaters team up to make a difference in the fight against Bay Area hunger when they kickoff the holiday Toy Drive Sunday, December 12th. This year's Toy Drive will once again benefit Operation Dream, with the help of the San Francisco Police Department. Operation Dream collects and distributes toys to the San Francisco Public Housing, H.U.D. complexes and low-income neighborhoods. Prior to the 49ers/Atlanta Falcons game December 12th, volunteers from Operation Dream and the SF Police Dept., as well as some of our 49er players' wives, will be on hand at all 3Com Park gate entrances collecting brand new, unwrapped toys and/or financial contributions (please no guns). As a thank-you for those who donate, AMC Theaters will provide coupons. Last year's Toy Drive collected approximately $5,500 and between 7-8,000 toys. Operation Dream and the SFPD will distribute the Toy Drive donations to the San Francisco Public Housing, H.U.D. complexes and low-income neighborhoods. 49ERS IN THE COMMUNITY: YOUNG DREAMS 49ers defensive tackle Bryant Young is hosting an inaugural event Monday, December 13 at Hotel Sofitel in Redwood Shores. The event will benefit his Young Dreams Foundation. The evening will begin with 100 underpriveleged children enjoying holiday dinner and then being taken on a shopping trip accompanied by 50-75 celebrity athletes. The evening will continue with a cocktail reception/silent auction followed by dinner and dancing. |
