Curtis and Rasheed Shining May 27 2002 By Bryan Hersh of 49ers Paradise The 49ers may have hit home with two selections this season. Linebacker Saleem Rasheed and safety Kevin Curtis both looked very good during last week’s mini-camp. The two are hard hitting, and fast. They are mature, and understand their roles within the defense. Both players will see a ton of time on special teams, where they can continue to work on their tackling. The two should make a tenacious tandem in that area. But both should also see time as regulars in the defense. Rasheed’s speed will be a huge asset to the linebackers in trying to deal with quick running backs or tight ends. Curtis will likely see time in dime defensive packages. The 49ers really like what they have in these two players, and feel quite confident that they will improve their respective areas on the team. Both players will also have the luxury of learning from some very talented players ahead of them. At linebacker, Rasheed will likely be fifth on the depth chart, and at safety, Curtis will likely be fourth. The two should be solid contenders when this season opens up, and both should help solidify a defense that has been re-built from the ground up, to be a dominant force in the NFL.
Oh by the way - if you have any good ideas for a present for a 23 year old male, computer and karate entusiast, I’m very interested in hearing from you. >present@49ersparadise.cjb.net
