The first was the re-signing of draft pick Mark Anelli who was released two weeks ago make room for linebacker Brandon Moore. Anelli could be called back up to the roster once the 49ers find some room for him. The team also signed Aaron Lockett who was a great kick returner in college. Lockette set several school records, including gaining 4023 all purpose yards. He’s big, and very fast, and his signing shows that the 49ers are not willing to sit around at this position. They are looking for someone to improve the team as soon as possible.
To make room for the two practice squad additions, the 49ers released offensive tackle Austin Lee, and receiver/returner Austin TT Tolliver. Neither player was able to impress the 49ers enough to activate them to the regular roster.
